Government Shutdown TomorrowFINAL UPDATE (12/20/2019): President Trump has signed the spending bills and avoided a holiday government shutdown. The bill granted Federal employees paid parental leave and created a new branch in the military called Space Force, which is historic.


UPDATE (12/20/2019): The House and Senate have approved the $1.4 trillion, two-part spending deal. It is now pending President Donald Trump’s signature.

We are removing the countdown clock since the shutdown threat is over.

(01/25/2019):  ***This will be final update. The President has signed a congressional resolution ending the longest federal government shutdown in US history.  On 2/15, the government can possible shutdown again if the president does not receive funding for a wall on the southern border. The shutdown lasted for 35 days.

(01/17/2019):  President Trump has signed the “Government Employee Fair Treatment Act of 2019” which guarantees backpay for federal government employees.

Here We Go Again…Another Federal Government Shutdown?

FINAL UPDATE: The government has reopened after the Senate Democrats agreed to vote for a three week spending bill.


UPDATE: The deadline has passed. The US Federal Government has officially shutdown as Democrats and Republicans could not agree on a spending bill. This will be the first shutdown since 2013.

UPDATE 2: 

The Senate has passed the stop-gap measure 81-14. The bill will now go to the White House for President Trump’s signature.

The stop-gap measure will extend the current continuing resolution  (CR) until December 22, 2017. Hopefully the threat of another shutdown will not occur before the holidays.
