The Lion King

The Lion King‘s live-action film journeys deep into the African savanna to a particular kingdom where a young lion is born (Simba). Simba is destined to be the future king after his father (Mufasa). The cub and his father share memorable experiences which include advice and training on how to rule over the Pride Lands.

Nonetheless, this joy is short-lived when Scar, Mufasa’s brother,  decides to switch up the plans of the royal inheritance.

Ultimately, the young cub is forced into exile. During this period, he makes new friends who mold him into becoming the ruler he is supposed to be.

The film portrays instances of love, friendship, and bravery as well as betrayal, tragedy and lots of drama. Not to mention, a lot of fun and memorable songs.

The Cast Members

The prominent cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, and John Kani as Rafiki. The characters Timon and Pumbaa are Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen respectively.

Our Thoughts

We are confident this remake of The Lion King will be wildly popular. We are huge fans of the Broadway production. The reception of The Jungle Book’s remake was a box office success, and The Lion King is likely to have a similar, if not greater, outcome. After all, many people have dubbed it as one of the greatest animated films ever written. With the addition of famous entertainers such as Donald Glover and Beyonce Knowles, there will undoubtedly be a crowd.
