Reflections: Thank God for Closed Doors

thank god for closed doorsWe have all experienced ups and downs in life! Perhaps a relationship didn’t work out or maybe you didn’t secure a job you desperately wanted. Closed doors can be disappointing, but don’t let that discourage you. Closed door can sometimes lead to something astounding! That’s why we thank God for closed doors at Virgo Philosophy.

Thank God for Closed Doors

I once worked at a job that wasn’t a challenge. I was comfortable. Despite working full-time, I would finish my work within four hours. I knew the personalities at my job and had friendly relationships with several coworkers. The pay was decent, but I still wasn’t happy. I wanted more.

When I inquired about a promotion to my supervisor, I was given excuse after excuse. When I requested a temporary detail to a new office, I was denied. The only increase I saw was my workload, but I still managed it with relative ease given my set of skills.

So when a job offer came from one of my satisfied customers, I took it. At the time, I never would have fathom that the closed door shuttered by my supervisor would open a world of opportunities and promotions to me.

Can’t See What Is Coming

There has been many nights when I wished I knew what the future had in store for me, but none of us truly know what is coming around the corner. That’s why it is imperative that you never settle on mediocrity.

Had my supervisor given me a promotion, I would still be working at a job that didn’t challenge me. I would have been stuck. The best thing she could have done was to close the door on my existence in that office. I am thankful she did. I am also thankful I had the courage to turn the page and focus on my future blessings.

Clearing A Path For Doors Of Opportunity

Like I mentioned earlier, closed doors can be scary because we don’t know future, but it is best not to stress. It is important to have faith and to continue to manifest opportunities into your life. Below is a list of a few tips that helped me clear a path for doors of opportunity. I am passing them on as I know they will also help you:

  • Know that everything works out for the good.
  • Leave negative events from the past behind you.
  • Find a quiet place and meditate or pray.
  • Keep a positive mindset every day.
  • Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Look — life is tough, but it is important to stay strong, have faith, and believe. Never get comfortable and settle for second best. Don’t let a “no” discourage you. And most importantly, by no means let a stranger determine your future in life.

God Bless and Peace to You.
