LATEST UPDATE: A medical examiner has determined the cause of death of Prince. His death was a result of an accidental opioid overdose from fentanyl.
How Prince obtained fentanyl is unknown. Fentanyl is only available via a prescription. According to the MayoClinic, it is a serious drug and if not taken properly, it can cause serious side effects such as an overdose.

We are sadden to report the musical legend, Prince, was found dead this morning at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota. He died at the age of 57. His publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, has confirmed his death. Details surrounding his abrupt demise are not clear yet. However, last week he had to cancel shows and was taken to the hospital for a medical emergency. One of his representatives told TMZ, Prince had the flu.
Like millions around the world we will miss Prince. We celebrate how his music got us in the mood to have a good time, but are also reminded how short life is. We lost him too soon. During his short life he made many accomplishments. He shook up the music industry, broke down barriers, and expressed himself unapologetically in ways never seen before. Paving the way for future artists. Purple Rain, KISS, When Doves Cry, and Little Red Corvette are just a few of the song we will treasure. Prince was inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame in 2004 and will forever be a music legend. Our condolences to his loved ones.
R.I.P. Prince. Gone, but never forgotten.
